Broome Campus Facilities
|Broome Campus Map|
|Google Map of Broome Campus|
Broome is easily accessible by bicycle. Its many bike paths, including one that meanders past the University entrance gates, means the town centre, tranquil Roebuck Bay or the magical Indian Ocean are all accessible within a matter of minutes. The Broome Campus is situated on the local public transport route and taxis provide another efficient and cheap alternative.
Walking through the Broome Campus grounds is like walking through a national park. Tropical birds dance in the branches of native trees, river stone tables are set in amongst lush ferns to allow for a unique studying atmosphere. And as the wet season approaches the flowers on the frangipani trees open and the fruit on the mango trees begins to ripen.
The student Village provides nine self contained houses, each with five single bedrooms for students studying full-time for at least one full semester.
Each bedroom has an area to study, its own private ensuite facilities and each house has a central kitchen and living area. Laundry facilities are also available on campus.
For many students it may be their first time living away from home. The individual houses and the small community environment encourage independence in the students as they are developing into young adults.
The houses are clustered together in a natural bush garden setting and each house has an outside social area to catch up with friends.
The Hostel consists of 34 beds in single, twin and triple room configuration and is ideal for one to three weeks of block study, ‘unit intensives’, group seminars, etc.
External institutions are also welcome to apply to stay in the Hostel. Open 24 hours a day the Hostel kitchen is self-catering, but continental breakfasts and dinners are available on request.
Our facilities are available to hire for conferences, meetings and special events. The multipurpose conference room, along with meeting and tutorial rooms are all equipped with audio visual and presentation facilities. The facilities are ideal for special events, awards nights, board meetings and conferences.
Student Life Centre
The Student Life Centre is open until midnight and offers students a place to come and relax before and after classes.
Located in the Hostel it is home to the students famous pancake mornings and the SLC facilities includes full kitchen services, a lounge, television, snooker and table tennis tables which always prove popular.
The Broome Campus Information Technology Department provides a range of high quality services.
Students have access to computers in the library and after hours access in the L7 computer laboratory. All areas have access to laser printing, scanners, digital cameras and CD/DVD burners.
All students are given a Notre Dame email account. This allows access to the Student Portal and network services. Broome Campus uses Blackboard for the online delivery of their units. This is accessible via the Student Portal. All computers have a wide range of software supporting student studies.
Technical support for students and staff is available through the Information Technology Services office. The office can be contacted via firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone on (08) 9192 0632.
