CHC30213 Certificate III in Education Support This program is custom-designed by industry experts for two categories of potential workers; those who are already working as teacher aides and are looking to formalise their qualifications, and to prospective employees seeking work. Notre Dame students will be trained to support students in an educational setting from primary through to high school. You will learn about how to support students in developing their literacy, numeracy and language skills as well as how to work effectively as a member of an educational teams.

CHC40213 Certificate IV in Education Support
This program is designed for individuals who want to work in education. It is suited to those working as an education assistant, those wanting to work as a teacher’s assistant or wanting a pathway into the Bachelor of Education, or those wanting to use a short course to decide whether teaching is a career for them. You will learn about literacy and learning, behavioural guidance, assisting and supporting students with a range of learning and developmental needs to achieve their learning goals, and how to implement recognised theories and best practice in the workplace.

Practical experience
Students complete 200 hours of work experience as part of these courses. Work experience provides students with a great insight into the education industry and hands-on experience.

Course delivery and duration These qualifications are delivered over one and a half years (six terms). It is recommended that students undertake a minimum of approximately 5 to 10 hours of independent study per week to enhance their ability to successfully complete this program. Notre Dame combines web-based studies along with on-campus intensive delivery, so that students can study this course from the comfort of their home and community.
