At Notre Dame, you are a person, not a number
The University of Notre Dame Australia seeks to enrol students who wish to make a special contribution to society. We use a comprehensive admissions process that goes beyond the use of a single score.
Notre Dame’s admissions process considers every applicant on an individual basis, which is, like the Notre Dame study experience, focused on the whole person. Prospective students apply directly to the University for admission.
As a Year 12 student, you can apply directly to Notre Dame and have the opportunity to speak with a member of academic staff, discuss study plans and receive an offer, all prior to sitting your final year exams.
Entry to Notre Dame is based upon consideration of a number of factors including the following:
- Personal qualities and motivation to study
- Contribution to school church or community life
- Academic record
- An interview with a member of the University’s academic staff
The interview provides an opportunity for you to ask questions concerning your chosen course and the University as a whole. It is also about discussing your interests, motivation to study and your potential needs while at university.
You can speak about your school performance, extracurricular activities, social and family commitments, working and importantly course advice, counselling and alternate pathways with Notre Dame’s academic staff who care about your personal and professional development. Most importantly, this interview is your chance to shine!
Our friendly admissions team can provide further information on available pathway courses that can lead you to study the university degree and enter the career path you desire, should you not meet the minimum entry requirements for Notre Dame’s courses.
“Notre Dame’s admissions process took into consideration more than just my academic ability. The process was based on real-life qualities and I was treated as a real person.”
–Peter Martin, Bachelor of Preventive Health (graduate)
